One Nation leader Pauline Hanson took a brutal swipe at Anthony Albanese as she hit out at laws introduced in the wake of the Bondi Beach terror attack.

Mrs Hanson is riding a wave of increasing popularity with last week’s Newspoll putting her party ahead of the Coalition on primary votes, lifting seven points to 22 per cent. The Coalition fell three to 21 per cent.

And signs at many Australia Day rallies backed the idea of the One Nation leader becoming Prime Minister, with “Pauline 4 PM” seen.

The party currently has only one MP — Barnaby Joyce who defected from the Nationals — and four Senators.

But she took to the stage in Brisbane to thunderous applause from supporters at what had the feel of a street party, with music, flags and cheering throughout the crowd.

The rally remained peaceful, though there were occasional angry outbursts from attendees about immigration and the Prime Minister.

Addressing the crowd, Ms Hanson rejected climate change concerns, praised Australia’s mining and manufacturing sectors, and said she had spent her political career “calling this country back together”.

“I have taken so much pride in my country… all I’ve ever done my whole political life is call this country back together,” she said.

“They disgust me. I’ve got no time for them,” Ms Hanson told NewsWire.

She rejected claims she votes for “the one per cent”, saying she had spent her political life trying to bring Australians together.“All I’ve ever done my whole political life is call this country back together — that we are all Australians together,” she said.Ms Hanson said she welcomed migrants and people born overseas who embraced Australian life, adding that showing pride in the country should not be criticised.She accused her political opponents of harbouring hatred and “playing the victim”, saying debates like this happened “year after year”.“They’re un-Australian.
