A source told the Herald Sun that he suffered a 'minor medical issue' and that he was 'fine.'

The publication also reported that Andrews was admitted to hospital some days ago.

Known to be a long-time smoker, Andrews had been struggling recently to quit.

He was last hospitalised in 2021 following a nasty fall at a Mornington Peninsula holiday home.

Andrews crushed his back, broke ribs and suffered respiratory failure and required months of physical rehabilitation.

Andrews and his wife Catherine are being sued in the Federal Court by cyclist Ryan Meuleman with whom they collided with while driving on the Mornington Peninsula in 2013.

The crash left the-then 15-year-old with serious injuries and has since been the subject of numerous investigations.

No charges have been laid.

Andrews also made headlines in September after his controversial visit to Beijing, where he was invited to watch a 10,000-strong military parade alongside China's Xi Jinping, Russia's Vladimir Putin and North Korea's Kim Jong-un.

The event was to mark the 80th anniversary of the Second Sino-Japanese War and World War Two.

Andrews said he did not attend in a diplomatic capacity but in a private one./-

“I don’t think Dan understands that he’s part of this great game that Beijing’s playing,” Mr Danby told Sky News host Sharri Markson.

“His role, as far as the Chinese are concerned, is to elevate the horrible regime in the eyes of the world and in the eyes of Victorians.”./-

However, with no media invited to cover the trip, it’s been criticised by the Opposition, who've accused the Premier of a lack of transparency.

Mr Andrews is hoping his trip to China will encourage more Chinese international students to follow back to Melbourne.

“We want their students to come here, and if they do, they’ll be part of a respectful community,” he said.
