Harriet Wran 'high on ice' at time of murder

The daughter of former NSW premier Neville Wran reportedly told police officers she was "numb on ice" when a fatal knife fight erupted at a notorious Sydney housing commission block.
The matter was heard at Liverpool Local Court on Thursday after Harriet Wran, 26, was charged with murder, attempted murder and aggravated break and enter over a double stabbing at Redfern on Sunday night.
Her barrister Winston Terracini SC told the court that his client was likely to fight the charges.

"I've indicated at this stage we'll be pleading not guilty," he said.
Wran did not appear in court, and will remain behind bars after she did not apply for bail.
Wran and 35-year-old Michael Lee were arrested on Wednesday in connection to the stabbing death of 48-year-old Daniel McNulty.

The university student and Lee are two of three people allegedly involved in the double stabbing.

Their co-accused Lloyd Edward Haines, 29, is also charged with murder, attempted murder and aggravated break and enter.
He did not apply for bail when he appeared in court on Wednesday.
At the time of the stabbings, it is believed that Wran had been living rough and battling a drug problem.

The 26-year-old is believed to have relapsed just before her father's death in April.
It is understood that Mr McNulty was involved the supply of drugs in the Redfern area.
Wran is due to appear at Central Local Court in October.

Ms Hickson, who has asked for privacy, flew into Sydney from Brisbane on Thursday morning.
When waiting media asked for comment at Sydney airport, she replied: "Please don't", Fairfaxreported.

Meanwhile the former NSW premier Barry O'Farrell has raised questions over the media interest in the case.
O'Farrell this morning tweeted: "is it really relevant/necessary to repeatedly mention the late Neville Wran's relationship to a person arrested overnight?"
