What has MH370's debris revealed?

The wing flaps showed that the plane was not in a landing position when it plunged into the ocean, the Australian Transport Safety Bureau said.
If the pilot was planning a controlled ditching of the plane, the wing flaps would have been configured for landing.
As this was not the case, a report by the bureau concluded that the aircraft appeared to be "out of control" during its final journey.
Chief search operator Peter Foley said: "You can never be 100 per cent. We are very reluctant to express absolute certainty.
"You can draw your own conclusions as to whether that means someone was in control."
If someone had been controlling the plane it could have glided much further than thought - meaning rescuers could have been searching the wrong area.
More than 20 bits of debris suspected or confirmed to be from MH370 have washed ashore on coastlines throughout the Indian Ocean.
However, a deep-sea sonar search for the main underwater wreckage found nothing.

Australian amateur crash investigator Peter McMahon has claimed images from Google Earth show what he believes is the wreckage of the Malaysia Airlines plane.
He says it is located under the surface ten miles south of small islet Round Island - an area not included in the search operation by experts.
Images have emerged showing what could be the wreckage of missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 and it's covered in bullet holes, an expert has claimed.
The Google Earth pictures show what appears to be the outline of the plane, which vanished along with 239 passengers and crew, under the surface of waters just north of Mauritius.

Tuy nhiên, tờ nhật báo ra đời từ năm 1919 của Nga Moskovskiy Komsomoles (MK -www.mk.ru) dẫn nguồn tin của cơ quan tình báo nước này và một số cơ quan tình báo của các quốc gia khác xác nhận đã tìm thấy chiếc máy bay này. Chiếc máy bay của hãng hàng không Malaysia Airline mang số hiệu MH 370 hiện đang ở khu vực Kandahar, Afghanistan gần biên giới Pakistan.

Chiếc máy bay Boeing 777 khổng lồ đã hạ cánh an toàn, đậu trên một con đường nhỏ tại môt vùng nông thôn hoang vắng với một cánh bị gãy.

Toàn bộ 227 hành khách và 12 thành viên phi hành đoàn vẫn còn sống.

Theo nguồn tin tình báo cho hay "Thảm họa" này bị bắt cóc bởi một nhân vật bí ấn có mật danh là 'Hitch' nhưng chưa có thông tin về nhân vật này. Tên này đã bắt Phi công đổi đường bay về Afghanistan.

Cũng theo MK, Những hành khách đã bị những kẻ bắt cóc phân ra làm 7 nhóm, sống trong những túp lều chật chội và bị kiểm soát gắt gao. Có một nhóm 20 nhân vật quan trọng được giữ riêng trong một đường hầm.

• Hiện nhóm bắt cóc máy bay này vẫn chưa đưa ra yêu sách.

Vẫn chưa rõ động cơ của chúng là gì, nhưng theo MK, nhóm bắt cóc máy bay táo tợn này là nhằm gây sức ép cho Mỹ và Trung Quốc về một vấn đề chưa được tiết lộ.

Niềm hy vọng cho các thân nhân của 'thảm họa MH370' được nhen nhóm và mong rằng sẽ tìm được MH370 trong những ngày sắp tới.

Kuala Lumpur (AFP) - Hopes that Malaysia's missing jet might soon be found are yielding to the sobering realisation of the immense challenge of searching an uncharted seafloor at depths that push deep-sea technology to its limits.

"I have compared it to sending a man to the moon. We know how to do it, but we can't just do it in three weeks," said Erik van Sebille, an oceanographer at the University of New South Wales.

Twice in two days, an advanced US Navy mini-submarine has had to abort its search of the remote Indian Ocean for wreckage from the Boeing 777, which vanished on March 8.

The unmanned Bluefin-21 bounced back to the surface on Tuesday after hitting its maximum depth of 4,500 metres (15,000 feet), and Wednesday's search was cut short due to technical trouble.

The hitches have raised the spectre of a prolonged, difficult search that may require even more sophisticated equipment to be deployed.

For nearly a month, the search effort has focused on a vast and lonely stretch of ocean where the Malaysia Airlines jet is believed to have crashed after inexplicably veering far from its Kuala Lumpur-Beijing flight path.

Underwater signals detected in the last ten days -- thought to be from the plane's "black box" -- raised hopes that wreckage could soon be found.

But these beacons, with a normal lifespan of around 30 days, have since gone silent -- forcing investigators to look below the surface in a targeted area encompassing 40 square kilometres.

In a dark, extremely deep and little-known seascape far off Western Australia, it is a daunting prospect, experts say.

- Mysterious and unmapped -

"It has not been mapped -- in fact most of the deep ocean has not been mapped," Charitha Pattiaratchi, an oceanographer at the University of Western Australia, said of the search area.

"It is very cold and dark with high pressures -- 450 times that at the surface."

Experts cannot even agree on the nature of the seascape, variously described as flat, rocky or coated in super-fine silt that could envelop and hide wreckage.

One of the world's foremost wreck hunters believes searchers have found the crash site of the missing Malaysia Airlines jet, and recovering the plane's black boxes is inevitable.

"I think essentially they have found the wreckage site," the director of the UK-based Bluewater Recoveries, David Mearns, told 7.30.

"While the Government hasn't announced that yet, if somebody asked me: 'Technically, do they have enough information to say that?' my answer is unequivocally 'Yes'."

Mr Mearns solved one of the nation's greatest maritime mysteries when he found the wreck of HMAS Sydney deep in the Indian Ocean.

He was awarded an honorary Order of Australia for his work.

His advice was also crucial in helping to find the wreckage of Air France flight 447.

His confidence is based on the strength of the sonar "pings" emitted from the plane's black box recorders.

Those signals appear to have now stopped as the device ran out of battery strength.

"You just don't hear these signals randomly in the ocean. These are not fleeting sounds - they have got four very, very good detections, with the right spectrum of noise coming from them. It can't be from anything else," Mr Mearns said.

However, he understood why the searchers were being cautious.

The leader of the joint taskforce searching for MH370, Retired Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston, says he will wait to see wreckage before confirming the plane has been found.

"Obviously for the sake of the families and for everybody else they will want photographic proof and that will be coming shortly," Mr Mearns said.

A robotic submarine, the Bluefin21, is already scanning a five-kilometre-by-eight-kilometre area of the seabed - 4,500 metres below the surface of the Indian Ocean.

It was due to stay down for 24 hours, but automatically ascended after just two hours of scanning when it reached its maximum operating depth.

Mr Mearns says he would be surprised if the sonar search turned up anything quickly.

He expected it would take weeks, if not months, to recover the black boxes from the Boeing 777.

The plane's cockpit voice recorder and data recorder are separate devices.

He says the real breakthrough in the investigation was made during the analysis of MH370's flight path.

"Somewhere out of some place, fantastic pieces of intelligence were put together to really narrow it down to a small, small area," he said.

"And that's how these guys have been able to find it so quickly.

"The Ocean Shield was out there a couple of days and they got a hit. That has been a tremendous success and miraculous. People were searching for a miracle. This was one."

An unmanned submarine will be sent to try to find wreckage from Malaysia Airlines MH370 after signals suspected to be from the aeroplane's black box fell silent.

In a media briefing on Monday afternoon, Retired Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston said no acoustic trace of the black box had been detected for six days.

"We haven't had a single detection in six days. So I guess it's time to go underwater," he said.

"The experts have determined that the Australian Defence vessel Ocean Shield will cease searching with the towed pinger locator later today and deploy the autonomous underwater vehicle, Bluefin-21, as soon as possible."

Retired Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston says the vehicle will first search an area of about 40 square kilometres.

"The deployment of the autonomous underwater vehicle has the potential to take us a further step towards visual identification since it offers a possible opportunity to detect debris from the aircraft on the ocean floor," he said.

"It will take the autonomous underwater vehicle two hours to get down to the bottom of the ocean.

"It will then be on task for 16 hours. It will then take two hours to return to the surface and four hours to download and analyse the data collected.

"As I have said before, aircraft wreckage needs to be visually identified before we can say with certainty that this is the final resting place of MH370."

Retired Air Chief Marshal Houston, charged with leading the recovery effort, says an oil slick has also been spotted in the vicinity of the search area, however it is unclear whether it is from the plane.

"I can report Ocean Shield detected an oil slick yesterday evening in her current search area," he said.

"A sample of about two litres has been collected and we are a number of days [away] before it can be landed ashore and conclusively tested.

"I stress the source of the oil is yet to be determined but the oil slick is approximately 5,500 metres down-wind and down-sea from the vicinity of the detections picked up by the towed pinger locator on Ocean Shield."

Retired Air Chief Marshal Houston says he is not confident about finding plane debris on the ocean surface.

"The chances of any floating material being recovered have greatly diminished and it will be appropriate to confer with Australia's partners to decide the way ahead later this week," he said.

But the signal beacon on the black box has an average battery life of around 30 days, and could expire any day now. And numerous undersea factors can distort such signals and their location.

Q: If they are from MH370, what happens next?

If the pings are confirmed, authorities would deploy a submersible device to scan the seabed for debris.

If found, the difficult task of reaching and recovering the black box in ocean depths ranging from 4,000-5,000 metres (13,100-16,400 feet) would begin.

Seafloor-mapping and recovery is "a very intense and time-consuming process", said Anthony Brickhouse, an assistant professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in the United States.

But lessons were learnt during the two-year search for the data recorders from the 2009 crash of Air France flight 447, which contributed greatly to today's body of knowledge, he said.

"We know a lot more now that we did before Air France about how to do this," he said.

Báo Anh The Guardian dẫn nguồn tin từ giới chức Malaysia nói chiếc MH370 đã bị ép hạ cánh xuống khu vực biên giới giữa Trung Quốc và Kyrgyzstan, nhưng tọa độ chính xác chưa được tiết lộ.

Trong khi đó, hãng tin nhà nước Trung Quốc Tân Hoa Xã phát đi bản tin nói Bắc Kinh vẫn đang thúc giục Malaysia cung cấp thông tin "toàn diện và chính xác" về số phận MH370.

Ấn Độ, một trong những nước tham gia tìm kiếm MH370 hôm nay bị cho là đã không bật radar quân sự thường xuyên, điều này góp phần lý giải vì sao MH370 'tàng hình' bí ẩn, theo tờ Indian Express.

Khi máy bay bắt đầu cất cánh khoảng 30 phút thì Không tặc là 20 người Trung Quốc gốc Hồi Giáo khống chế. Không tặc đã vào được buồng máy và bắt 2 phi công tắt bộ phận điện đàm lúc 1 giờ 7 phút. Phi công trưởng vẫn giữ hệ thống thứ hai để liên lạc nhưng bị phát hiện lúc 1 giờ 20 phút.

 

Sau đó nhóm không tặc đã bắt máy bay, bay lên cao độ là 45.000 feet rồi bẻ lái sang hướng Ấn Độ Dương trong trong 10 phút rồi hạ độ cao trở lại 25.000 feet.

 

Sau khi giữ được độ cao trong vùng không có Radar phủ sóng thì không tặc đã bắt chiếc máy bay bay vào không phận Burma, bay dọc ngang theo, bên ngoài biên giới Trung Quốc để tới phi trường OSH AIRPORT của Kyrgyzstan và đáp xuống an toàn. Dưới đất đã có nhóm chiến binh khống chế nhân viên phi trường để đón máy bay.

 

Tất cả những dữ liệu không tặc được Malaysia giấu kín, vì lý do nào đó, chưa công bố. Malaysia đã biết rõ thông tin vì từ 1 giờ 7 phút viên phi công đã mở điện đài lén báo về Malaysia diễn biến trên máy bay tổng cộng là 14 phút.

 

Hiện nay thông tin nầy dĩ nhiên không có ai biết ngoài chúng ta, những người bạn của Thùy Trang biết thôi. Các bạn chờ đi, trong vài ngày nữa sẽ có nhiều cuộc tranh cãi và khi Malaysia đưa ra thông tin thì sẽ giống hệt những gì Thùy Trang vừa trình bày xong.
