thư gởi bố
lettre à mon papa
letter to daddy
Flavien Sundhauser
Je me balade dans les souvenirs que tu m’as laissés,
Con còn khóc, những giọt nước mắt không quên bố;
Bố ạ, lần đầu tiên con viết thư cho bố;
không gì mới, ngoài những gì đã kể bố nghe;
Letter to Daddy
I’m wandering in the reminiscences you left to me
during my childhood not yet finished under your care.
Once you gone, I grew up so fast,
the lad I was was gone with you too.
I don’t make up any chimera;
I prefer to narrate my dreams mixed up in prayers.
I only expect these would reach the right destination, you.
I don’t long your coming back; I know the impossible
But I believe, secretly in me, that you are not far.
I don’t replace your absence with any fancy presence;
I only straighten up things to keep them unchanged.
I’m still crying, my tears won’t ignore you;
so glad to say they talk to you better than I do.
Today, these tears don’t leave me, they stay with me
Because today is
The day when the life separated us,
Split us wrongfully, unfairly.
Well, Daddy, for the first time, I write to you
I write what I’ve told you up, nothing else.
For what, I fail to realize what for,
but partly as if faintly unburdening my heart
from an undisclosed specteur,
a fear of, and for, the tomorrow.
And this, neither did I recognize why but I need
To share with you my life.
Again, I don’t know to get it done.
Meanwhile, is self-offered to me the bare reality, the unique verity:
the vacuum in mind, populated by my intensely missing you.
