Claims have been circulating online that Iran's newly appointed supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei was secretly flown to Moscow recently for a surgery following being injured in recent US and Israeli airstrikes. However, there has been no official confirmation from Iranian or Russian authorities.

The reports stem from an article published by the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida, which said Khamenei had been taken to Russia aboard a military aircraft for treatment. According to the paper, the operation was "personally offered" by Russian President Vladimir Putin./-
