A Melbourne chemist has come under fire for allowing shoppers to stock up on baby formula before the tins hit the shelves.

VIDEO Video has emerged of shoppers queuing outside a Melbourne chemist in the early hours of the morning to stock up on baby formula before mums and dads could buy any.

Video taken outside the My Chemist store in the heart of the CBD shows shoppers queuing outside in the early hours of the morning, waiting for the doors to open.
When they eventually do open, the shoppers can be seen rushing in, trying to get their hands on boxes of formula, including the much sought after Aptamil and A2 brands.

“As a long-time local resident I am dismayed that businesses are allowing people without children to profiteer at the expense of Australian mothers that do (have children),” a local resident told the Herald Sun.
Shoppers have long been purchasing the tins, which retail for around $20 in Australia, and some sell them online to Chinese shoppers for more than three times the price.

Those responsible for the practice, known as Daigou, have caused outrage around the country, forcing many supermarkets to enforce a transaction limit on certain brands of baby formula.
