US President Donald Trump has announced on Truth Social he is extending the ceasefire with Iran.

Trump said due to the "fractured" government of Iran, Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, asked him to "hold" attacks on Iran until "their leaders and representatives can come up with a unified proposal".

"I have therefore directed our military to continue the blockade and, in all other respects, remain ready and able, and will therefore extend the ceasefire until such time as their proposal is submitted, and discussions are concluded, one way or the other," Trump said.

The ceasefire was expected to end tomorrow morning AEST and earlier we reported JD Vance cancelled his trip to Pakistan for peace talks.
